Never trust a bankers draft til its cleared.

It's my draft, I only buy on ebay, not really done much selling.

I aways ask for cash, sold a car (not on ebay) for £12.5K, got cash.

The market on Ebay is no different to the old street market. You see something, tell the man you want some of that. He stuffs something in a bag. Do you check whats in there before you walk away ?

Do you check your change ? Has he given you change for a quid instead of a fiver? Has somebody dipped your pocket as you walk away?

The market is still the market and you need to keep your wits.

Err......what about feed back?

Its easy to see what kind of person your dealing with and if you pay with pay pal your protected.

We have done literally hundreds of transactions on ebay and never had any problems.

In fact on the occasions where there could have been a problem I have been amazed with the response of the seller.

Had a laminatore arrive in bits, sent the seller an email and he just sent another (didn't even want the bust one back)

On the odd occasion item have not arrived I have emailed the seller and they have just send another :001_smile:

NEVER but NEVER take a cheque.

Personal cheques can be declared void by the bank up to six months AFTER it has cleared.

The bank will then just take the money back out of YOUR account

Bankers drafts have been forged or stolen.

Shed loads of blank building society cheques have been nicked in tageted raids.

My wife had her bank account frozen for weeks for just accepting a stolen cheque, the fraudster didnt get any goods as she was waiting for it to clear.

Spill the beans John, or we'll have to assume you were trying to buy something you are embarassed about. Like a lifetime's supply of penis enlargement tablets. Or a top handled Husky!:001_tongue:
