I found these guys while looking at chippers on a French site, and they seem like good quality from the videos.

Has anyone here used/own one? any feed back?

The vario, which has the turnable shoot is €3870 +tva (£3080+vat) which seems good. Made in the eu, honda engine.

A good place to ask this question would be on the French forum Allo Olivier.

Also, consider buying a used chipper and putting it on an old French reg trailer with a 1t ptac.

Cheers Stu,

I would if they would hurry up and approve my joining!

I don't really want anything too big, I was looking at a nice cs100 down near Finistere for 3500€ but it got snapped up:001_rolleyes:

This one looks like a reasonable model and is over a grand cheaper than a jo beau m300, but possibly with good reason:blushing:

I think these have popped up before on here. Some wondered about the noise and exhaust fumes as you'd be working right over the engine. But with the Honda engine... what noise when compared to the racket of blades vs wood? As for fumes - well I suppose there could be an issue but if you allow for a breeze, a good engine, unleaded fuel and the fact that you don't stand over it but move back and forth then I doubt you'd suffer.

I do like the compact construction.

One thing about Allo Olivier, there are many one man bands on there that operate using small vans and trailers.

Compact chippers have a big following on there and so there are a lot of threads about these machines. It is certainly a bargain over a new CS100 which carries a truly eye watering euro price but there again... What if you just ran a used U.K TW125. The chances of you getting pulled up about it's weight are slim to non and it really is a proper machine at the end of the day.

We are the UK importer of Haecksler chippers

they are amazing machines - everything is very well engineered with SKF bearings

Optibelt drive belts and genuine Honda engines

if anyone wants some more info you can get in touch with me

Jim Upson 07836 285541 or 01621 892907

I can organise a demo or deliver a machine

they are selling hundreds of these in Europe, a lot of pro arb guys on the continent are using these as well as their 6" chippers - you can fit these Haeckslers in a transit van, take them right to the tree and chip into wheelie bins - which can be tipped into ton bags in the back of the van - no trailer license required - no danger of theft

they will fit through a standard gate and are as easy to push as a wheelbarrow so you can literally take them anywhere, I know of a Dutch guy who was doing a lot of work in terraced houses he took them through the house to the back garden!

they will chip anything up to firewood size and process a serious amount of wood in a short space of time, they love all types of trees including conifers,

they're designed to compliment a 6" chipper as an affordable item of professional machinery to add to the fleet, they are priced reasonably at £3250 plus vat because the Haecksler company is based around the ethos Quality, Reliability and Value

anyone wanting to see more should have a look on you tube - search for

haecksler vario

or just get in touch...

kind regards

Jim Upson
