APF is held every 2 years and I've been to several over the years.

I think it would be a great opportunity to sell/market second hand machinery from individuals/contractors - they should create an area where you can trade items - think it would be popular anybody agree?

Sounds good until you checkout stand prices.

Surely organisers could make a concession to the traders?

doubt it - direct competition - albeit small - for the companies paying full wack for a stand and hoping to sell their new machinery. Any second hand item sold is potentially one less new machine sold.

I would have thought it makes no difference to new machinery sellers, after all someone in the market for a used piece of machinery probably doesn't have the funds to buy new

Someone looking to sell used may well be looking to upgrade to new once they have released the cash in there used machine to go with what they have saved or can borrow

Win win for both and most show organisers would take the extra income from a used display area even if it was only a small fee per machine parked up for sale

It would be a little unfair that people get a concession on stand prices just because they are selling used machinery?

Should someone selling cheaper machinery pay less for a stand than someone selling expensive machinery?

I would expect that all the stand space is long sold now, the first site meeting to book plots is I think 2 years in advance of the show.
