hi guys,

its been a great summer, lots of hot weather so the workshop heater has not been running, nor has my chainsaw.

and now it wont tickover even after increasing idle screw and on w.o.t it just bogs down and cuts out..

fuel is fresh..

what do you guys think...?

i think it needs a tune.

this is my mccrappy cs 360t, the t stands for terrible

i forget what size spline the carb adjusters are... 6mm i think

cheers,

chris

Most of the times, giving the L screw 1/4 turn anti clockwise and re-adjusting the idle will do it.

The adjusters will be splined - no idea what diameter, I usually remove them and slot them as I am to tight to buy the screwdriver:blushing::lol:

thanks spud, i followed your advice but it sounds like it has a problem to me, it will tickover for longer now but the idle is very uneven, revs up on its own then cuts out :blushing: i hate tuning 2 strokes.. i should have got a huge 4 stroke lol

i dont suppose you know the std needle settings do you? i might have the needles out and cut a slot in them.. im using a make do tool and it is not working too well

chris.

Most saws are one turn out on each but there are some exceptions. The L screw generally won't be a risk to the saw but the H screw if wound in too far will cause a lean seize.

If the carb is coming off, get some carb cleaner down the H and L screw hole plus check the fuel strainer under the cover held on by the single large screw.

cheers spud, ive quit for the night now.

i dont trust my method to drive the screws, i just tried to count the turns in but i cant tell whether its bottomed out the needle or its slipping.. i went to 2 turns but cant tell what happened, H needle.

it will probably never run again now

cheers,

chris
