i find these events quite emotional, i not typically a soppy git but remembrance and this commemoration do get to me. i cant imagine the trauma and sacrifice.

 

sadly, after 100 years we have learned nothing and war continues, even on our doorstep in europe.

 

i guess thats what saddens me most, the futility.

Why people just can't leave others to do as they please is beyond me (so long as the others don't take the piss).

Candels lit in our house late into last night as a nod to what was sacrificed.

Great grandfather would talk about ww2 but never ww1 which he served in.
