Deutz DX 7.10

Looking to buy a tractor and have seen this Deutz DX 7.10. Don't know much about them and wondered has anyone had any experience with them?

If its an old air cooled thing walk away. If its not watch the four wheel drive output shaft bearing. Book says to strip box and replace from inside, but i know better.

i heard that the air cooled engine will break apart internally and every engine will eventually fail.

 

we had a deutz 3.90, our neighboring farmer had the slightly bigger one, it was like new and cost him 6k for an engine rebuild.

 

we dont have a deutz anymore

Nothing wrong with aircooled deutzs at all!! Absolutally bullet and idiot proof engines. It helps if you change oil and filter once every Preston Guild!!

very tidy looking deutz, often see 6.10s at good prices but been told gearboxes are a bit soft

Air cooled deutz engines are as good as any give them clean oil,fuel and air and they will run for ever.

Ford 6600 never had problems with porous blocks??

IH never had problems with porous liners??

I worked for a plant hire company that had deutz engines in compressors and as long as you gave them clean fluids and set the tappets they would run for 12000 hrs +
