Buy the best you can afford, Michelin lasted me 5 years on my 2150, it was doing 500 road miles a week.

McConnechys got me the best price years ago.

If possible go for Michelins . They are not so good off road as continentals but last longer on the road , also continental are experiencing problems with their agg tyres cracking on the outside edge of the cleats . We have already returned 4 out of 4 tyres to be repaired my continental and still they have cracked again . Continentals also wear about twice as fast as Michelins .

As sky huck said make sure you get the correct speed rating. i personaly dont like mitchlen xm47 any more they had a change of compound about 3 years ago and started blowing to peices and only have a life of three years . The use to be the best you could get .

We now use mitus mpt21 good on road ok off not like a real agg tyre but they cope

mitcheldever are fairly good in winchester

I think AV charge about a grand each for michelins :( can't afford the initial outlay for those..... Sadly, 'cos I know they will work out cheapest in the long run. Guess I'll have to go mid range. Thanks for your help guys, I'll admit I have been tempted by cheap AG ones with 30mph rating but I know better than that.. Cutting corners never prospers in the long run ....

If you are doing more than 30 mph often, then I wouldn't put underated tyres on. I pay £495.00 for continentals. I do a stack of miles at 50+ and are fully loaded all the time. I also run Michelin's and don't notice any appreciable difference between the two.
