i wont be turned in to lots of nice bowls unfortunately (well one or two bits will) but turned in to these skittles. although its not quite as good as boxwood it's a good substitute and that's what i'm after.

 

I turned some about a year ago it was a lot darker than yours nearly like walnut in colour. Yours does seem very light is cord wood?

laburnum can be greatly varied in colour and usually darkens anyway. had a block that was dark but once cut up it was pale blonde in colour but one bowl blank is dark brown all the way through.

We're taking one down on the 1st August. In Birmingham .

Quite a good size.. Think the main stem is about 18" diameter.
