I am currently speccing my new takeuchi 23r/Hyundai 25 with the dealer (2650kg)

They will run the flails but you want plenty of grunt.

An Avant of equivalent cost and half the weight will have 1.5 the horsepower and lpm on the auxillary for running implements.

There are quite a few videos of them running, most on 4.5ton + machines. Though you can use them on smaller diggers I imagine you would want to be pretty steady on the controls.

Looks pretty cool in the right situation, though I don't see any reason why you can convert a compact tractor flail to run on an Avant fairly easily

Has anyone rigged a hedge flail on a mini digger?

Is that a really bone question??

We have a 7 ton 360 at work I know it's not really a mini digger but we use a mulching head on that for clearing regrowth under power lines and also 'trims' some hedges with it, makes a mess tho! It is a good bit of kit tho
