Ha Rupe I would have loved to have seen your old boss go mental when you told him you were leaving.

No work today then??

 

That was in 1993 or 4 ish, not much of a loss to him at the time but an inconvenince as he had work booked in. But hey, he was trying to play me for his own benefit and I wanted full time work.

I've got nothing this week. Good thing I've got employees that I can totally take for granted and call up whenever i feel like it and not pay them holidays etc!!

 

Yup, that's the way to treat people, you may find it a good idea to moan to them how hard you've got it as well.

Well i think this forum is great you guys are honest and caring everybody has different opinions on deserved and justified pay personally i feel you get out what you put in i pay my groundsman £80 a day and supply all kit fuel etc he works hard and puts his heart into the job he is keen to learn and listens to what i say

start at 100 a day for a while then go up, none of this treat em like crap behaviour what is this the army. treat em well and let em work and give em guideance and encouragement and then they will learn and bust their balls for you pay em crap and make em make tea is just dumb. never done it never would happy as.

Not enough experience to be self employed IMO. Self employed means you need to be able to get on with the the job in hand, any amount of teaching or instructing is just going to benefit the next company you work for. I would want a year or 2 of commitment at basic wage and you'd have to do all the types of work includign making tea in the morning etc.

 

Was the making tea bit a joke?...if not, would i hell!!:thumbdown:
