We are very proud to sponsor the The Lion Rampant team entry for the 2014 Mongol Rally! The Lion Rampant team will be attempting to travel roughly 10,000 miles from the UK to Mongolia, unassisted, in a 2002 K11 Nissan Micra in aid of Invictus Trust (a teenage mental health charity) and Cool Earth (a rainforest preservation charity). They will also be taking supplies for orphanages and schools along the route and will provide any help they can whilst visiting such institutions with the goal of having a direct impact on people they meet during the journey.

We thought this was a very worthy cause, most deserving of some of our fine British Pounds, and we hope you do too. Donations can be made via the team Virgin Money Giving page.

The full details and all the updates will be on our website as they prepare and make the journey.

Hi All

I'm going to try and keep this updated as the guys make their mad journey.

They have now stripped the car as much as they can, and made the sump and engine guard to protect the underneath of the car.

Please have a read here of the charities we are supporting for this and if you can help that would be great.

The nutters:001_tt2: (2 that are taking on the task), are currently talking to a tracking firm to sponsor them, so we can track the car on route.

They have a blog you can keep up to date on here.

10,000 miles to Mongolia | Charity drive to Mongolia in a Micra

I've just read it and it's quite interesting and an eye opener to how difficult it is to get something like this of the ground. Take 5 mins and have a read it's interesting.

Good luck guys.

Well tomorrow is the big day for the team, they set off at about 12ish from our place. We are having a send of launch from our place from 11.00 tomorrow. So if you want to join the boys and wish them luck, pop down. I'll be doing free bacon and sausage rolls.

If you can't make the launch, see if you can spare a few quid and sponsor them here.

Also a big thank you to Stein, Stihl, Draper and Jetboil. They have all donated kit to help the guys on their trip.
