Timberwolf 150 anvil gap

Hello Charley

The shims fit between the nose shaft and the inner race of the closest bearing, adding shims will move the rotor postion (with blade attached) away from the small vertical anvil which is fixed to the front plate by 2 x countersunk allen screws. Thus adding 1 shim will increase the blade to anvil gap by (20thou) .5mm. Blade to anvil gap on a TW150 should be 2.5-3mm.

Hope this helps

Hi Charley,

Adding shims does not hold out the centre of the flywheel casing, it alters the position of the rotor in relationship to the front plate. You haven't said the age of your machine but if its an early one you may have to reset the rear bearing too. This is why it is so important for a Timberwolf trained engineer to perform these tasks. Incorrect bearing fitment will reduce the life of the bearings. :-)
