I was referring to offered advise ' contact your local dealer' as meaning pretty much everyone knows they can contact there local dealer an there for a pointless post!

 

I was not in anyway suggesting local dealers should be pushed to one side .

 

As being a said local dealer I would of been shooting me self in both feet!

I assume they kicked redwood out for obvious reasons and split it up over various dealers .

A manufacturer wants his dealerships to do as much as he can to sell and support his range of machinery. If that dealer or importer starts to undermine him by selling something else in preference to the original item then it is natural to cease the flow of goods and place those with someone else. Redwood split away from the original importer, Wessex, some years ago and since they assembled their own machine, they have been focusing on their own brand, it would be natural for Jensen to be upset at the situation.

 

I would think that there is an official "Trade Out" period where agreements and debts would have to be honoured and then whole goods, ie machinery, would flow through the new people. Parts supply may be under negotiation and could be removed from Redwood altogether. The last thing Jensen would like is for the users to get let down so they will make sure that genuine parts at genuine prices would be available from the new people. Machinery prices may go down, or up, but they will be still available through the new people.

 

I am surprised this did not happen earlier to be honest.

 

They new people will not connected, in any way, to Redwood I have been informed.
