362-CM, 560 or Echo CS-600

Specs are rubbish. Merely comparing specs (which I did for years, pouring over every last catalogue data section) is a fruitless exercise. In the hands, in the wood is the only way. Thus you'll have to buy / try every saw to know.

I don't think it will be 560xp firepower but will last longer. Much better than 362 upto 18".

Yes ok thanks

I owned 362 hated it, lumpy horrible thing, sold it straight on 560 was best 60cc I've used to date however would like to try an echo & 50cc dol/echo like the idea of no autotune

i have the 560xp for about 2yrs now there where a few small teething problems but i wasnt very impressed with it on a .325 but changed it to 3/8 and what a difference in the 60cc class it will take some beating

next week i will be getting the new lesser known Dolmar PS6100 STRATO 18'' 3/8 which has had good reveiws in the U.S.A

so it would be interesting to compare these two once the dolmar has loosened up

maybe a picture post in the future

560 will pull a 20 fine, but not as well as a 362 (it seems to work very well on the Stihl IME).

..... .

If that was your findings, something likely wasn't right with that comparison - like different chains maybe, or chains that wasn't equally sharp etc. etc. :sneaky2:

BTW; Even though the saws perform well with 20" bars, it doesn't mean that it is ideal - for balance reasons if nothing else.

Keep the longer bars as light as possible! :001_smile:

stubby i didnt try a 8 pin at the time it didnt look like there was room for it so i thought the 7 pin 3/8 was bigger and a good compromise and it felt like it was made for the 3/8 chain like cutting butter :thumbup:

I had a similar choice to make a year or so back. In the end I said what the hell and bought a MS460 (a bit bigger than you suggest). I'd been borrowing a Husky 560, and didn't get on with it. The 460 is a dream. The extra weight is worth it as it cuts so quickly. Great with a 25" bar, a complete beast with an 18" on it.
