I already have a pantin, best 40 quid spent ever! It would be nice to have both to be honest. I have my personal rope for rec climbs so got an excuse to buy something shiny ;)

Had a go at srt the other day, couldn't get on with it but didn't give it much time to be fair.

Had a go on the distel hitch but will give the Knut a go.

Have you tried changing your hitch cord and its diameter?

Roblon and liros are both cheap and are easy to tune.

The new liros looks sweet, it has the suppleness of the older stuff and hopefully the indestructibility of armour prus it mimics.

8 mm roblon approx 50cm between the fishermans knots on 13mm rope with a combo of 3 wraps and 4 braids self tended and gripped perfect.

Lock jack and spider jacks maybe your thing though.

I owned both and got rid of them pretty quick, both have a really annoying habit of pulling slack through when your trying to do reductions just at a point you don't need it! The zig zag was definitely a better tool.

It seems like a 50/50 on lock jacks and spider jacks from what I have seen. The lockjack is putting me off as I fear it will be too jumpy.

Can you control the spiderjack one handed when branch walking whilst using the brake?

The LJ & the SJ are jumpy, until you get used to them. It takes about 20 minutes to get used to them.
