Guys,

just a heads up, firstly to say thanks for the input re oils etc. on the other thread but also to say that the wood will soon be finding its way across the Atlantic towards my door

cant wait to get my project underway, and will keep a photo journey as the stock and gun develops its journey.

in case some missed the wood some more images.

if anyone wants any quailty timber than have a look at woodnut.com :thumbup1:

Looked at their web site.

Wow that is one expensive bit of wood.

Must be £650 with shipping and duty.

"Measure twice, cut once"

I look forward to seeing pictures of the finished result.

I have used this on various projects, easy to apply GetFile.aspx?maxsidesize=960&guid=194967a1-44ee-465d-a33a-d34f5f641397

Good luck.

As far as wood goes, that is seriously sexy...

Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app

For the price it should b sexy!

Initially i went from a standard hit of walnut, then semi fancy, fancy, burr, master grade then ended up at exhibition quality

It aomething ive wanted to do for a while and itsca one off so went all out.

I wanted a new gun but thats 3k+ for something half ok but still no where near the quality of this bit of wood that i chose.

After all that will be done (barrels reblacked, service, inletted, &stock machined) it will come in around 900, much better price in my mind. Thats how ive aold it to the accountant

I might use that but going to ask my gunsmith guy what he would use.

Price wise yes high but much bettet quality in my eyes then the standard turkish stuff.

TurkishWalnut.Net Gun stock blanks - Shotgun Blanks - Exhibition Grade - Lux - Full Grade - AAA Fancy - AA Fancy - A Fancy - Semi Fancy - Full Fancy - Standard is another site i spent alot of time on, but just coulnt get excited by their stuff or their prices either
