A colleague is installing a hard standing at our new premises over the next 2 days.

The 360 is a 15ton so should make light work of the job.

With the electric and water going in that's over 10k splashed out so no directors dividend this year...or the next either!:blushing:

Put things into perspective, this 360 goes out at 90euros plus vat per hour and the ensemble for 135euros plus vat.:001_cool:

Damn productive this father and son outfit, it's the second time we have used them with great results.

Very very unusual tyres on the rubber duck, to UK eyes, as they are wile wide.

PS

90 Euro an hour, PLUS Vat.

GULP!

I get a skilled operator on a very well maintained 13 tonner, for £30.00(ish)/Hr + Vat.

If we could get a close look at the tyres they should actually be twin tyres made to form one tyre to avoid all the hassles associated with twins holding muck and cutting into ground etc.

These are very popular in Sweden where I first spotted them in use.

However I could be wrong and they are wide singles as you would find used mainly on wheeled excavators in Holland.

Eddie.

Twin tyres, 500euros a pop!

£30 an hour for a 13tonner is good.

Trouble we have is that the self employed and small companies are taxed to high heaven here.

I pay 90% of an employees wages again in 'national insurance' and 33% on profits.

BLERK!

Ty

A decent long established farm based contractor.

Running a HGV low-loader on DERV, recently put an 8 wheeler grab lorry on the go.

Maintains all his own kit, and immaucatuly maintains, over the winter months.

I did say "ish" btw, prob mid 30's by now.

I do owe him for 3 days recently (der duck pond job!)

cheers

I've never really been able to understand how guys can go out on machines costing upwards of £30k (and sometimes a lot more, plus not forgetting all additional costs) yet only charge £25 or £30 an hour. Seems lunacy to me

That's how, SFP!
