Banned drivers

I've never known anyone to be over and get less than a 12 month ban.

I love a drink, but have turned into a geek who drinks at home whilst talking drivel on a tree cutting website!

The morning after is the one to watch, think about your movements after a big night fellas.

Dan, I could survive workdays with no licence, but the pricing would crucify me.

there should be no difference wether you have a bussiness employing one or a thousend or are on the dole, the act is just a dangerous in all cases.

not saying i havent done it when i was younger mind but sure wouldnt consider it now.

carl

Surely court should consider how the punishment will impact on each individual.

They want to see proof of your income, as a £100 fine may impact heavily on a low earner or someone on benefits, but would mean little to a wealthier individual.

In the same way should one drink driver loose all they have work years to build up in the form of a business, when another looses almost nothing from the ban, as they are on the dole??

Fines aren't means tested, they are supposed to be based on the severity of the offence.

If you have built something and decide to wreck it by drink driving you made your choice so live with it.

They most certainly are.

As I understand that its the payments that you get means tested on not the level of fine.

If the level of fines were means tested the system would be grossly unfair, a poor man and a rich man would be punished differently for the same offence, how could that be right?

That's how it rolls I'm afraid Andy, every single day.
