Have to say, on second reading its looks like maybe we wil need it, although its not clear. Where does a landy come in? GVW3500kg ? what about a pannel type transit as oposed to a tipper? both of these can be classed as a B type if the MAM is under 3500kg.

This all sounds like yet more euro bollocks, however perhaps now's the time to become a trainer and start teaching this crap because if every builder/ lanscaper / glazier / joiner etc needs to have it there'll be plenty of work.

The test centres will be that busy, all you'll have to do is book a test as soon as they can manage to fit you in, then get written confirmation to show if you get pulled. "sure officer, I booked the earliest test date that i could, the 11th october 2015":001_smile:

i went to a dvla/vosa meeting last year about the CPC and they gave the example that a builder driving a truck to his work site was exempt. When asked how you prove this they said seek legal advice! not very helpful

Thats an interesting point, often the lawmakers and those doing the enforcing either don't see eye to eye od don't understand each other.

My btother has a 57 navara, when he bought it he asked them to take the tacho out of the old one and put it in the new one.(he does a lot of long didtance towing) . They told him all tachos fitted now have to be digital so the old one won't do, ok he said, fit a new one. We can't said Nissan cause the electrics won't talk to each other. So what does he do if he's stopped?

Would it not be possible to voluntarily reduce the GVW of the truck to 3499kgs and have it plated as such. This would surely negate the need to do this training. I know you can do it with trailers but not sure about vans though.
