I don't get it. Young lads, anybodies and nobodies driving large equipment on the road getting away with flexed rules, doing what is actually illegal in law. I know some shocking kit that gets taken on the road. I speak as a tractor owner myself. Though I don't want any extra expense, I am very suprised. Must be some powerful handshakes and favours going on somewhere.

I ran one of our trucks in for test today and because of a problem on the A3 the place was empty with no other trucks in there. Lots of testers with nothing to do so I had a very long chat with one of the VOSA guys about this Tractor/Mog/agri vehicle roadworthiness thing. He said that these vehicles are nothing to do with them and the only time they get involved is if they are involved in an accident, outside of this its down to plod. I asked if tractor and trailer had a wheel fall off and ended up on its side in a ditch if it would involve them , he said providing no one was hurt it would be highly unlikely for them to be involved and that again would be a police matter. So it looks like around these parts plod is god . Clever traffic plod would be knowledgeable enough to give a tractor and trailer a good checking over at the roadside.
