think you missed the whole thing ross..... was mint comp. but man what a shameful show out. there was only 17 people in the Comp and not enough support. really shame its going this way. Arbcamp was nothing, nothing happen. the venue was amazing, the trees where awesome but where were the people? i understand the comps are not for everyone, but these comps do help push new gear, new ideas, training, keeping in touch, contact, drinking, camping, goodtimes, etc etc.

this is also one of our few ways of promoting arboriculture and the professionalism required to undertake the job to the wider public. makes me pretty worried in the way it is going in the UK, i think it is real ashame.

i would love some other thoughts on this topic?

The competitions have never been particularly well attended, at least not the ones I have been to...but only 17 is a shame. Not sure what the answer is :confused1:

I did all the uk comps for about 5 years, always really good fun and learnt loads. Would have gone this year but by the time the dates were announced I already had something else planned, I guess a lot of people were in the same boat.

Well done mr glen on your win

Yeah I thought it ran into the Monday as I expected numbers to be high

£60 entry fee I thought was a bit high

Shame it was a poor turn out

So guess you will be heading to the worlds

Hope to catch up in NZ at some point
