I have that very same grinder bought from dean, and it was a struggle to spend that money!! But I must say it has been awesome!! Can't beat hydraulic, I would never have belts again. Has anyone put a pto on there 2550's dean and how'd you get on enquiring about a mulcher head?

Hi Greg, everyone who has purchased this grinder has said exactly the same thing, I brought the conversation up with Bandit at a previous meeting ref the pto, no feedback as yet but I will pursue. They wouldn't entertain the winch.

What would the pto be for?

Surely anything you wanted to add would want to be powered by the original hydraulic pump.

What are the benefits as I probably don't know all of them?

Generally the benefits are very little downtime & maintenance, everyone is having trouble with belts & that aren't getting any cheaper, granted there is a little more go in a direct drive but there is no give. With the hydraulic grinder a relief valve blows or at worst the engine stalls, no maintenance, no adjustments, no cost.

Also because there is no driveline there is no need for the engine to be mounted above the cutting head, this is beneficial as the engine generally worked horizontal instead of at great angles. The engine is lower down making the machines better balanced & more stable. There are less components without belts( bearings, pulleys, electric clutches, linkages etc. There is also only bearings on one side of the cutting head, so far so good with no problems with the system.

All you need is to adapt to a slightly different way of grinding so you can listen to the engine bogging down & then you get time to react, we also have the Bandit bump control which is a preset depth control that you can adjust for your cut.

What I would really like for those horrible stumps that grow around old stone walls etc is a hydraulic breaker

Lovely bit of kit, is that infeed conveyor available on the 1590?
