any bargain chain oil out there at the moment

Makro £18 for 20L of rapeseed oil, I've found it as good as labeled bio chain oil, as they are made of rapeseed also.

trouble with rapeoil is the smell of chips and cooking while using it,wonder if you can add anything to it to take away smell and add a bit more clinginess.

If you have a firewood processor, do not use veg/rapeseed oil or bio oil in it as the mice love it, they eat through the pipes to get to it:)

Recently went back to using oregon super saw again after a while of using and not being particularly impressed with the oil we've been getting locally (gopart in the white drums).

 

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. It always used to be thick and tacky, to the point where on a cold day it almost slid out of the can in sheets. The drum that arrived a couple of weeks ago may as well be cheap engine oil - it's that thin and runny.

 

Are all chain oils like htis now or does anyone still do a proper gloopy one?

Plant oils' bio stuff is like glue or at least it was last time i used it a few years back. Just got a price on a drum and it isn't cheap.
