I've got the exact same (or at least the body is the same) saw but it's badged as an Eckman.

 

Although mine came with an oregon bar.

 

Oh mines a 45cc though.

This is the problem with buying and selling privately -- you're not just buying the product, you're buying the person, the way they've treated their property, the way they'll deal with you. There are great bargains to be found, but just as mean traps to fall into. When buying something that could potentially explode and cut you into pieces, I think you should be extra careful. Don't cut corners here, unless you're ready to cut a whole lot of other things too.

Rather than start a new one I thought I'd resurrect this thread.

 

Just saw in ebay the same 'Dack' saw available in either red or insipid green branded as a 'Charles Jacobs' for christs sake.

 

Sounds more like a brand of shampoo!

 

Oh it's worth buying the Charles Jacobs anti frizz versions rather than the £48 'Dack' though, because it's only £499.00!

 

129 green ones sold, 262 red'uns.

 

 

Frightening.
