Starting from first principles;

(i) What HP is the rather small looking petrol engine.

(ii) Since power is work done over time, with a 3 second cycle time, there cannot be too much work being done.

btw,

I understand the appeal of a flywheel "storing" energy.

but needs to be large dia for this to work.

And, not actually having seen one , I`simply cannot see how "clutching" a spur gear into a rack, or visa-versa, can be good engineering..

There has to be a better way, not as simplistic, or as cheap, but better engineered.

Thanks diff I've listened to your advice and it makes sense. I only want to buy once so it's got to last. I will ring the sellers Tuesday and see if I can get a demo. Also been looking at some old threads and the riko range are looking favourites so I will give them a call also.

Confused...........

 

If the posch one I just googled is 30t then agreed mine isn't 30t

 

But in pic 2 they advertise these as 30t which mine is prob as heavy duty as these maybe more!!
