I use Blaze too on bigger trees. Works great with a ziig zag. It is hard on the hands, but you do get used to it. I like the fact that you don't notice the weight of the rope as you work around the tree.

I used 11mm for several years climbing DdRT and really liked how much lighter it is (Velocity was my favorite). I have smallish hands so I didn't have any issues with the grip. I didn't care for Blaze very much, always felt too mushy to me.

Nowadays I'm using one of the PoisonIvy variations (11.7mm) and it's definitely easier to hang on to while still being fairly light. So far I've found it to be the best all around rope for any type of climbing, SRT/DRT/DdRT/ad nauseum.

Yes but the Poison Ivy rope you climb on is far to dangerous and illegal you would probably end up in jail or worse still dead climbing on it over here.

We only have mushy Poison Ivy, unless you want to illegally source it from Sherrils through Vermeer UK....

i use a 10.5 L.S.K from Southern Ropes on a Lockjack , using a thinner rope and a ART coccoon makes work far easier and virtualy effortless .
