Gas for your MIG welder

Probably going to get put down for this but does no one use gas less? I didn't think much to it to start with but once you get used to it there's nothing wrong with it, can get a pretty decent weld too. Good for someone that doesn't do much welding and doesn't want to stump up for gas

I have one on Rent from Air Products, £114 a year, I have had it 6 years and I'm still on the same fill as I don't do a lot of welding but it's there when I do need it. Hope it doesn't go off.

See if you can pick up a spare bottle. When I have finished my welding job I off hire the bottle and the little bit left lasts ages. I hire the bottle back out for big jobs when I need to change it a few times that month.

But dosnt that work out expensive in rental? £114 * 6 = £684

 

Using a similar rental free solution, you could have paid deposit (£60+VAT) & had 17 of 9 litre refills for the same outlay.
