what can i use to keep my SJ oriented correctly in my crab? the little rubber bit that came with it is no good... ive tried hose pipe but to no avail.

Ive found the best crabs are the ones with a flat top like the one marcus suggests...personally I use an isc mini as its small and keeps the sj low.

for me i've found the flat toppped DMM fat boy with a beale pinch and a bit of old black hose does the job.

in tight/congested work positions tho it will still creep round the krab which is why i'd consider switching to a different friction setup in those situations, such as a hitch climber and knot.

 

i reckon the sj is great but, like most things, it has it's limitations.

The rubber grommets work alright for me, but my old setup was far so superior, got some bits of hose that were just a little too small, heated them up and wiggled them onto a dmm fatboy, then put tape over them. Never moved, infact I struggled to get them off when I got a new fatboy.
