Operators licence

Ive just been granted an operators licence for a 7.5t vehicle. Took around 8 weeks to come through and cost me just short of £1200 £300 of which was paying a company to do it for me which i would definitely do again

Olmc Wakefield. I dealt with a lady called aimee rushby. Really knowledgeable and help full i gave them my details and basically they did the rest worth £300 when you don't have the time to fafd about yourself.

We did our own, wasn't difficult as I recal.

If you can't make that back with the bigger vehicle it's not worth doing.....

 

I did my own about 5 years ago, it really isn't that hard.

The 9 week wait for the application to be approved is my main concern. My transits on its last legs and I'm buying 6 and half ton iveco next week.

You can apply for an interim licence, I got up and running within a fortnight.

Can't you get by on a restricted op license? You can't if carrying other peoples goods for hire and reward. I suppose a load of wood chip will count as other peoples 'goods'?

For the purposes of "O" licencing the material is part of your business so you can do it on a restricted licence.
