The Scots Guards

I think the award winning video of the Scots guards in Iraq is awsome.

The contrast of of the lone piper with a silouette of the helicoptoer passing behind and the Challenger tank appearing over the sand dune behind is thought provoking,

I don't mind admitting I was a little choked watching it but it is a cracking reminder of the contrast between jobs of the bandsman, soldier first musician second.

Soft classic music to the brutality of war. There is just something about the image of a lone piper playing that provokes thoughts of defiance and resilience against our foes, simple yet awsome video.

i saw something that said the bandsmen of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards weren't professional musicians but i was under the impression that the pipes and drums of a scottish regiment were there solely for their musical ability originally but that has now been scrapped basically
