The owners of any trees damaging BT's lines (however stupidly they place them) are now responsible for any line damage.

BT seem to have moved the goalposts recently Huck.

They truly are a morally bankrupt bunch of scumbags these days.

no, they don't, those going through my tree took over 20 years of rubbing before an intermittent break developed, as i say, the insulation is tough.

I've seen it rub through in a few months.

No, branches moving in the wind will soon rub though the insulation.

Correct, the insides of 2 lines when I cleared them were visable and it was only about 2-3yrs worth of growth.

I don't see how they could make that stick legally?

I've tried looking for some kind of tree policy thing on the BT website - without luck. May have to call Buzby for advice....

Oh okay. I'll get one of those silky pole saws and disconnect them from our woodland.... tell them to move to the opposite side of the road. Cheers

then the lines are too taut. there is a reason why they leave so much slack.

A slack wire will sit nicely in a fork, the wind moves the fork, hay presto insulation rubbed away.
