I'm looking to get an inexpensive stump grinder as I don't have many clients asking for the service currently. Does anyone run the Lumag BSF15, and if so, how does it perform?

Cheers

Dale

Never heard of one! Must be popular.

Why not just hire one if you dont have much call for it ?

Inexpensive and tree machinery dont go together well.

I came across some Lumag stuff just last night. Seems they are a budget German manufacturer. Don't know anymore than that as yet. I was looking at their tracked barrow.

Very tempting prices though with 2 year warranty.

I'm with IC TREES.

Heard that a guy with such a chinese stumpy had a cracked engine on the customers drive way, big oil mess.

Look at the wheel, what to do when it's dull?

Just no teeth to change, only the whole wheel, hard to sharpen.

I think it's a waste of money.

Get a predator, Laski, Rayco, Bandit, Dosko or Vermeer used.

regards

One issue with less known brands can be getting the replacement parts - have a check and see if you can get hold of them easily and cheaply, especially if they are coming from abroad. A cheaper initial outlay may lead to higher costs further down the line!

We hire out Carlton Stump Grinders, which are brilliant.

Have you had a look on Arbtrader?

the small 13hp ish grinders are pretty simple machines if you can't get teeth change the wheel to green teeth the belts and bearings are always pattern parts and if the engine is goosed fit a 16hp chinese clone simples
