Hello all you guys in suffolk area. When i fell some of my trees i need to give a little help with the tractor. I was wondering what you do with your ropes if they fail testing do you throw them away or not? I usually use steel cable but it would be easy to take up rope:001_smile:

depends on the size off tree if its just a twggy type 13mm ex climing rope any big stuff steel cable with the tractor on it & somtimes a snatch block.

Are you from the suffolk area?? NO. :001_tongue:

Surely you would have to assess who, or what would be at risk if the rope snapped whilst trying to pull over the tree. Most ropes that fail inspection only get the bit that is knackered cut off and the rest is fine. I have about 4 eyeless ex-climbing lines that dont coresspond with my v.t set-up so are redundant but look good hanging on my workshop wall.
