Makita DCS9010 - what oregon mount?

i just noticed this on the parts list for the 9010 there are different bar studs and bar plate for the saws destined for usa and canada they wanted the bar studs / mounts for husqvarna d009

Why use a lathe to machine the bar studs. If you have a drill and a grinder what to do is put your drill in a vice to hold it and put the stud in the chuck. turn the drill in the opposite direction of your grinder at as high a speed as possible and grind the required amount off of the collar on the stud. it will not give the finish of a lathe but its only a power saw bar mount. Should save a bit of time

i have asked the suppplier i use to send on prices and availability for these bar studs and the cover plate with a smaller hole

I sold my 9010 in the end as I wasn't using it. And when it did come out I could get away with the 576xp. Going to get a 395xp at the arb show I hope.

So is it possible to get a sprocket nosed bar for a makita 9010 with out adjusting the mounts? I just had one delivered yesterday with the solid nose standard bar on it. Going to try it out on some oaks today

No not unless you get those studs changed or get a stihl E031 bar and alter the oil hole

Thanks Looks like I will be swapping the studs when I need a new bar then, happy with the saw though pulled well buried to the dogs

They do pull well keep it buried in the big timber :thumbup:
