i would buy the 88 over the 66 purely because when you need that bigger saw you will want the bigger(88) saw. there is little point strugling.the guy i climb for has only a small firm, me, him and a groundie. but when you do the bigger trees you need the bigger saw.

last month took down 2, 4ft montery pines,after felling and processing one stem the 88 packed in, ok i felled the other with a saw with a 25inch bar on it but there was little point struggling to process it, so i waited till the 88 was back in action

I dont have one never get stuck just borrow my old mans ha ha.

 

I see your point there a bit pricey tho do you notice they get lazy when there hot need to cool down.

 

Any ways i thought the thread was for a guy getting his first all round saw 88 not my first choice.

Do you guys tune your engines on your saws.

 

Ha ha some one should but a small turbo charger on one.

 

I think in this order for your saws

 

Stihl 200t top handel

 

Stihl 361 mid range

 

Stihl 660 big end saw

 

Stihl 88 only for big companies

I think ya right looks a good combo its always hard trying to decide these things..

thanks for the info on suppliers i have rang them but all shut..time of year lol....bugger when ya getting exited ..big kids eh?

 

thiers a 440 on ebay they look good spec?

also as i am still in training mode so to speak i am trying to get somone local so i can help out/ get some experiance on the job so to speak so if anyone is up for helping i would appreceate it...no pay of course ...dont all jump lol :proud:
