BS 8545:2014 released today

This BS has to become part of the planning approval. It will ensure most importantly of all 5 years maintenance of all newly planted trees. As well as correct selection, handling and planting.

 

It would also massively help Local Authority Tree Plantings by the same specifications.

 

Fed up of seeing trees:

 

Wrong tree for the location

Inadequate rooting area / pit surfacing

Lack of maintenance

Dieback

Failures

 

Many trees just about make it through the std 12months, as poor quality specimens, on a downward spiral to death. Long after the developer has gone.

Some time has passed since the last post but as a newbie I dare to make an addition!

There are understandable complains about the cost of this report but I found that a draft can be found here and final version here!

Have I got it right or not? :confused1:

Strange though, it's a Stockton-on-tees Copy on Huddersfields/Kirklees Website

Nice one!

 

I went into library earlier this year to get a download from the licensed access to BSI library only to find that, as one of the service reductions, the licence to BSI had been discontinued :sneaky2:
