Any more pics from different angles? I can understand what dervish is saying, but to be honest I think on a piece like this, proper proportions aren't that important. It has character just as it is. I bet it would look lush with a bit of burning

Hi Steve, to be honest, I'm no expert, when I got the job I went to a local sawmill looking for a suitable log and i was told it's American Redwood. He had some pieces that were 5ft diameter.

Hi Dervishcarving. the original drawings I produced showed a slimmer, taller viking. it was going into a playground and the client wanted something a bit like more like Obelix from the Asterix cartoon so he was shortened and made a bit fatter !
