Don't think you can go wrong with the granberg precision grinder from Rob at chainsaw bars, really good bit of kit and makes sharpening big bars a breeze!

I think most of them are badge engineered. I would imagine the more expensive ones have a better mech for holding chain ( not plastic ) I bought 2 lidls ones 5 years ago and still using the first but it was nearly as cheap to buy a spare grinder than buy a disk.

Depending on how much they need sharpening, depends on what i use.

 

For a quick touch up, i use a file.

 

For a bit more, i may use a dremel

 

If the chain is in a right mess, i have a clarke chain sharpener. Bought it from machine mart, cost about £60. Brilliant little thing.

Consistantly you will find the granberg precision grinder the preferred one on here at least in the sub £100 catagory. I have one and am very happy with it.
