Would you climb this?

So if its ok to climb. What's the best way to take it down. Little pieces of knock a big top straight out?

 

Looks like Enough room to take the top out and fell direct to ground there should't be very much kick back and only a little if any.Then section down in what size suits you to ht you comfortable to fell remaining trunk. That's me and how I would do it but there are many other ways and am sure more will be posted in the next 10mins:biggrin:

I wouldn't climb that for love or money! Big tree like that surely warrants a mewp. Also as the above post says you'd want to be sure it wasn't hung up even a little bit on another tree- else knocking the top out could alter the balance somewhat.

Like to see the photos if you do climb it and you must have bigger cajones than me!

It's was a hypothetical question. I felled it today. I have only climbed twice in the last 5 months so it felt a bit weird. I wanted to see what other people thought about climbing it? Where we should be climbing stuff like that to save specimen trees and fences?

Did the root ball sit back much when you felled it? Just seeing if what I said REF kick back if topped would be a little?
