jimbowuk, a factor in these discussions that doesn't get mentioned a lot is the weight of the machine. You may not worry about it but when I was mini chipper hunting it rowed some out of the equation for me.

Ive got the tw 13/75 chips nice straight branches easily but feed hopper to high and due to the tight angles at the bottom of hopper you can't feed forky branches in it.Ive been so naffed of with it that I've gone to the extreme of having another hopper fabricated for it having it made lower and opening up the throat to help with feeding forky brash. If that don't work it will be on flee bay and ill be getting the bandit.Ill put some pics up and let you know if it feeds better when all done.

I found same issues (and considered same solutions!) haven't done the mod yet but would be keen to see / hear how yours went. I guess it's "designed safe" with the high hopper to stop muppets putting arms / legs / other appendages in there and it's manageable for those >6ft but would be a pain otherwise.

I started up last year, & wanted a small chipper. In the end i got a well used treebusta, that has served me well, but if buisness grows then i will be looking at getting a better one, so i'll be watching this thread with interest.

I myself have a JO BEAU M 500/24H one of the best things i ever bought. It is drive-able get in most places. It will chip 100mm/ 4" but do not put anything through really over 50mm/ 2" as this is fire wood. I get people telling me they ask some of the large company's when they see them chip 8"-10" stuff if they can have it, but no, (do,nt ave the time love) they reply. What a shameful waste.

And hey climb safe out there.
