well, outside it actually. Carved from Sycamore as a marker for the entrance to a boarding kennels and Labrador-breeders in St Cyrus, NE Scotland.

i spent a fair amount of time planing it before hand so i knew how i was blocking out before i even started the saws. was only about 6 hours of actual carving. Sycamore is lovely to carve, cuts like butter and gives a nice finish without sanding (i only sanded his muzzle and ears).

Dave go to B&Q and buy a bottle of their own brand anti fungiside wash. every thing i have carved in Syc recently has developed black spots after a month outside so i have sanded them down and treated them and also treated all my new carvings and not had any problems.

ill pass that on to the owner. he planed to use creosote but think i managed to perade him to use deckign oil
