Hi all,

Thinking about booking myself on the Lantra Proffesional tree inpectors course.

Before i go getting a second mortgage to buy the course books i thought i might ask on here, see if anyones got any no longer needed

list as follows:

Lonsdale, D. (1999). Principles of Tree Hazard and management, Research for Amenity Trees No 7, Stationery Office, London

Mattheck, C 7 Breloer, H. (1994). The Body Language of Trees, Research for Amenity Trees No 4, Stationery Office, London

Strouts, R.G & Winter, T.G (1994). Diagnosis of Ill Health in Trees, Research for Amenity Trees No 2, Stationery Office, London.

Davis, C., Fay, N & Maynors, C. (2000). Veteran Trees: a guide to risk and responsibility. Englisg Nature, Peterborough.

Shigo, A.L (1991). Modern Aboriculture. Shigo & Tree Associates, Durham, NH, USA

Weber, K., & Mattheck, C. (2003). Manual of Wood Decay in Trees, The Arboriculural Association

Recommendations for Tree Work. BS 3998. (1989 with 1990 amendment) British Standards Institute, London.

Obviously, i don't expect the books FOC, and am more than happy to pay any postage.

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

Can I ask why the bs recommendations for tree work is twenty years out of date?:confused1:

Lots of stuff is in this industry, we still do according to ancient specifications. It aggravates me sometimes. I did a job "Under a consultant" He was victorian era!:001_rolleyes:

Just my experience, despite many on the tools wanting to embrace new ideas, techniques etc. Those that 'Manage read from old manuals and books'

Councils are special at this.
