What additions would you like to see on Arbtalk

If lonliness is an issue Mark I'm sure Ian or Adam can cure that for you at the cutters and climbers if you're camping overnight.

Possibly a way for threadstarters to rate replies on helpfulness: the way that happens on Amazon. Then the level of membership (senior, junior, etc) could be assigned based on this rating rather than on number of posts.

The problem with this idea is that a members rating would be based on how many people his/her reply appealed to. Similar to saying Mc Donald's is the best fast food and The Sun is the best newspaper as they are most popular in their sector. Popularity isn't a reflection of quality...see also U2, Top Gear, Russell Brand....etc etc.

Ahhhhh....... Now you see what I mean. One mans meat.......

But.....it has to be said, just because someone posts frequently, it shouldn't make them a 'senior member'. It bestows knowledge and experience, not the fact they are on Arbtalk a lot. Surely better just to display number of posts?

How about a date and time on peoples posts... I know there have been a couple of threads that I have wanted to post on, but as they are so far down the pages, I don't know how long ago the last post was made. There have been a couple of "For Sale" threads that apply, but like I say, they could have been cleared up a year ago for all I know...

Don't you love pushing that button that says "post" on it, and three seconds later seeing what you've just asked for???

:bash:

If you look on the right hand side it gives date and time of post.........looks like 4 mins not 3 seconds....

I would put laughing emoticons in now...but I don't know how on my iPad....embarrassed one would be here

My reply was late, but that was because I was hoping no one would spot my schoolboy error:001_tt2:

And I cant see "date and time" on the right hand side... all I spotted was on the left saying that the post was "X minutes ago"...:confused1:

STRANGE
