It's possibly. However it's not worth the hassle for the following reasons:

1. Economics. Direct drive from an engine is much more efficient. Hydraulics are expensive and require more maintenance.

2. The hours you put on the mini digger would quickly start to cost more than just buying a bench with an engine (which is probably no more than a hydraulic bench, hydraulic motors are expensive). Every hour on a mini digger clock devalues it, in addition to the normal running costs which I bet are more than a small sawbench engine to begin with.

And an engine bench will be easy to sell/won't loose value at all if bought second hand to begin with.

You're probably the only bloke in the country right now wanting a hydraulic bench.

Have you decided yet?

 Haha, I've decided!....

i bought a McConnell safety saw bench, i love it  has a 14" throat and can be used as a logging saw or ripping.. the rip table can fold down and a sprung logging table then comes up.. 13hp lister..

i haven't used many benches but since having this i cant say ive seen anything i would prefer, its on wheels aswell so can be towed..
