I've got a few pairs of Airstreams and I know what you mean. I find that the firmness goes with enough wear and the tread grips fine once it's been softened by use.

How much wear are yours getting? I would've thought after 6 months they'd be fine. I wear mine probably 10 or more hours a day during the week, 4/5 hours a day at weekends so they do wear in quickly for me, both at work and hiking, walking the dog, pottering about the yard. A month is enough for mine to loosen up and grip properly

Hmmmm, yeah I thought they'd have worn in by now (worn most days up to 10 hours, for almost 5 months) that's why I've carried on with them-final straw was actually slipping over on the cobbles walking down into Clovelly though! Maybe their just not for me, they're also super heavy IMO.

My boss has used Eltens for years and says they are super comfy, am gonna try his sons pair and see how I feel in them.

Ta for all the feedback, guess it's each to their own!!!

There's good for topping conifer hedges because you can jam your feet in anywhere and it doesn't hurt and working on steep ground and spiking.

I was up a huge beech last week and it was lethal and it wasn't wet, there's no feeling through the sole.

Recently bought a pair of air streams, I think they are cracking boots. Very comfy and feel lighter than what I was used to before (haix).

Slipped a few times but then you do when your stomping over wet ground with sweet chestnut coppice everywhere.

I'm on my second pair of air streams great boots. The soles on my first pair went after 7months walking on railway ballast but a £45 resole from alt-berg in Richmond and there good as new if not better.

Definitely dangerous.

Today whilst wearing mine:

A telehandler got stuck in the mud.

A big tree got hung up.

The telehandler blew a tyre.

My 395xp went 'pop'!

Dangerous stuff!

Hahaha!

Sent with my iPhone from me, to you!

Didn't you read the warnings on them boots you wear!!!!
