You always wonder who it is though, could be someone I know.

 

Should really get a second line just for business, then it doesn't get answered between cirtain times

 

my mobile has been on silent/vibrate for about 5 years now, the answer machine is in a room that isnt used. i check my house machine with my mobile before i go home at night and do all my calls from the van, so when i go home its finishing time. i have been called at all times, it used to annoy me, but now it isnt a problem. if you dont answer, and if its worth while the caller will leave a message.

All my potentail customers must have read this thread last night, I've had 6 phone calls today and because I've been rained off been round and priced them all.

 

Two of them asked if I came out to price after 6pm and have obviously not assumed that I dont clock out.

being a small business like me dean, a lot of it goes on the mood i am in, maybe not professional but thats just fact, if i am in the house bored, if the phone goes i jump, if i am knackered and cant be bothered and really busy the phone gets ignored:ohmy:

its because we use our family upbringing rules and not business rules mate, we hold manners and courtesy very high on our standards, it wouldnt be right to call a friend at 7am on sunday morning to borrow a lawnmower but it is ok to call a business. have a think about it mate, it has held me back for years and made me build up resentment, rather than business is busineess. what you can do is leave a simple message saying hours of business, 8am till 5pm monday to friday. emergency call it number(mobile)120quid an hour minimuim.simples. you not wanting to answer the phone incase you might miss something is anxiety, i suffer from that too.it also leads to stress:sad:
