Echo 8000

The saw has developed a fuel leak, I eventually found where it was and isolated it to behind the handle mounting So after taking it all apart i've found its this little rubber grommet which seems to be a blank for the fuel tank

 

Anyone know if this is more than just a blank? If it isn't where might be best to source a replacement for it?

Ok so if its a breather, which is something which crossed my mind, should it be as split as this or should it be more slotted on the end only? Thanks all

Would have thought it should be the end only, had not noticed the splits down sides in your pictures

Thanks, it sure looks split down the sides and it doesn't look equal which made me think, or hope, this was the leak.

 

So any idea where to find one, i searched for the parts list but found the new 8000 model not the old.

end only, elastisity should keep it from leaking but should let air in the tank when a vacuum forms

Sorry cant help you there, temp repair would superglue or similar work, dont know does it dissolve in petrol

thanks, given the year of manufacture I doubt this part has ever been replaced so has perished with the fuel over the years.

measure hole size, spud might know a similar dimensioned one that would do
