Its pants.

If you have a bit of dirty timber it is just about OK

If you hit anything hard in the timber you risk loosing some or all of the carbides

Nearly impossible to sharpen in the field (perhaps with a portable grinder?) and only with a green grit grinding stone in the workshop.

I do a fair amount of building stuff at festivals from slabwood and nailgun nails. No matter how careful you are when it comes to dismantle everything you always hit a couple of nails. I tried a Duro chain out last summer hoping it would go through a Paslode nail without too much trouble.

Absolutely hopeless! The first time I just tickled the side of a nail, half the cutters snapped off.

According to the catalogue they're used by the fire brigade to cut through walls and stuff but if it can't cope with one nail then I can't see how that's possible.

I've mounted one of these

EVOLUTION 230mm Multipurpose Blade For Rage230 | eBay

on a 9" grinder. You get about 2 1/2" of cut. It might not be CE, but it's ideal for demolition work. It will pinch if used on regular cuts, but for cutting right through a joint full of nails, you can't beat it.

It's probably running at two and a half times the 3000 max rpm recommended for the blade but if it works who cares
