Thats it!! I will never offer to work for family members again!!!

I was asked to do some work (for basically beer tokens) for one of the family, so i (stupidly) agreed. I said that i would fit them when i could. A week went by and then they started ringing asking when i would be coming, no rush they kept saying, then they rang again, so I said i will fit you when i get a spare day, Ok no rush they said! Another week went by and i get another phone call from mum, when are going to do that job? They are wanting it doing. No rush they said!! Now im getting ear ache from two directions. Then i get a call from my grandma when you going to do that job? No rush they said, now im getting ear ache from 3 directions.

So i have now rung all concerned told them that i now, don't work for family. Paying customers that put food on the table and pay the morgage come first!!!! Family or not!!!!!

They would have got the job done if they had been patient, now they can get somone else to do it!!! And will have to pay top money!!:w00t:

Ask them to do your garden or paint the windows or something and you'll soon found out how loyal a family you have.

Totally agree, I'll come when my time allows or you can pay like every bugger else!

Totally agree with you; family and everyone else seems to think that because they are family they should get a favour and offer to pay but not mean it. Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries... you've got to let your yes be yes and you NO be NO! People who can't take No for an answer - that's their problem. No is the best word - stops so many stupid situations arising...
