I'm looking for the name of the sort of cable tape measure for measuring timber lengths before cutting.

It clips onto you belt and hooks onto the end of the timber while you walk and measure to depict you next sawing point.

Can anyone tell me name of this rope style tape measure?

buy a Spencer Loggers Tape as they are uk made and easy to get parts for and very helpful ps they also make the stihl ones too

The oregon ones also look very similar!

The pin end is a better option than the angled steel one as it goes under the bark easier yet deeper; as standard on the spencer...

still a nightmare to get it stuck into the wood sometimes though! especially beach! or dead sweet chestnut sometimes still have to tap it in with a wedge or timber tongs!
